Meet Pastor David and Michele Pleasant
Pastor David and Michele served for seven and one-half years as Senior Pastor in Altha, Florida, before coming to Fort Myers in 2002 to serve Covenant Community Ministries in the same capacity. And like his father and grandmother before him he ministered within a denominational setting. Early in 2009 the Lord gave Pastor David a vision so vivid and so powerful that it would alter the course of his ministry forever, calling him to give up “everything,” including the security of denominational affiliation. Citygate Ministries was born of this vision. It would be a church of “24-7” lifestyle Christianity, not just a Sunday morning affair. And it would be a place where people could be “elevated” to the next level—a place where boundaries would be redefined.

Marriage isn’t meant to feel like you’re just sharing a house…
When a husband and wife stop pursuing God’s will together, the relationship shifts from covenant to coexistence.
God designed marriage to reflect His unity — not convenience.
Sometimes the Gospel looks like folding laundry, paying for someone’s wash, or sitting beside a stranger just to listen — but it doesn’t stop there. 🙌
We’re not just showing kindness; we’re sharing the hope of Jesus.
We’re praying for families, speaking life over people, and watching hearts turn toward God — right in the middle of everyday places.
This is what it means to be released — to take what God has done in you and carry it into the world around you. 🌍
Rescue. Raise. RELEASE.
Let’s keep being the Church beyond the walls! 🧡
Worship in the waiting. 🙌
After 4 years of battling, this young man was given 2 weeks to live… but instead of giving up, he lifted his voice in worship and praise. When healing came, his first response was: “I’m going to tell everybody.” 🔥
We’ve all been healed of something. Now it’s your turn to testify. 🧡
On Sunday we saw how Paul and Silas wanted to go one way — but God had a different plan. The Spirit closed the door, not to limit them, but to lead them to Macedonia where lives would be changed.
💡 Sometimes what feels like a “no” is really God’s redirection to something greater.

Worship isn’t just a song we sing — it’s the response of our hearts to the true and living God. Revelation shows us heaven filled with worship… and here on earth, we’re faced with a choice. Will we glorify God with our lives, or settle for idols like money, status, or even our screens?
Today, choose the One who’s worthy.
You can hand someone a Bible and hope they figure it out… or you can live a life that shows them what’s written on every page.
Real community isn’t optional—it’s where the love of Jesus becomes undeniable. Through testimony, through changed lives, through walking together, people begin to see: this is what it means to be made new in Christ.
Don’t underestimate your witness!
A lot of people aren’t running from God — they’ve just been hurt by people in the church. But church hurt isn’t who God is.
In Acts 8, we see the Ethiopian eunuch discover that nothing can prevent us from knowing Jesus. The same is true today: no pain, no past, no people can keep you from His love.
What if instead of letting hurt push us away, we showed up like Philip — ready to love, teach, and point others to the One who heals?
No matter where you are or what you’re walking through, God’s promise is still true: “I am with you.”
At Citygate Church in Fort Myers, we believe scripture reminds us that we’re never walking alone. When life feels uncertain, hold on to the hope that God’s presence is steady and unshakable.
Carry this truth with you today: His love goes with you into every moment.
‘I can’t, I have plans for Sunday.’
And trust me… they’re the best kind. 👇
Come see what Sundays at Citygate are all about! 🧡
Holding on to unforgiveness doesn’t just keep the other person stuck—it keeps you stuck. Jesus is the only way we can truly release the weight and walk in peace.
This week, ask yourself: Who do I need to forgive so I can finally move forward?
David is remembered as a warrior, a giant-killer, a king… but even he faced fear and discouragement.
In 1 Samuel 23:16, when David was hiding for his life, Jonathan “strengthened his hand in God.” That means Jonathan reminded David of God’s promises, lifting him when he couldn’t lift himself.
👉 Real courage isn’t just about inner strength. It’s about having people who speak truth into your life when you’re weary.
Community matters. Your faith is stronger when it’s not just your voice, but the voices of others reminding you of God’s goodness.
💬 Who is the “Jonathan” in your life? Someone who encourages you in faith when you need it most?
