MEET The team
David Logan Pleasant
Hey, My name is David and I am a husband to my wife, Alea, & father to my daughter, Riley. I was born in Virginia & moved to Fort Myers when I was 13. The first time that I tried out for the youth worship band, I didn't make it. It made me reevaluate why I wanted to play in the first place. I have dyslexia, so reading music doesn't come as easily for me as some others, but I continue to grow, learn & now teach. Thursday is my favorite day of the week, because that's band practice day! I love spending time with the team & building relationships.
Hi! My name is Abel Pardi I was born in the tiny town of Fremont Ohio and moved to Cape Coral Florida with my family at an early age. Both of my parents were extremely involved in our church’s worship team and my siblings and I went to almost every rehearsal. I cherished every moment learning the words to songs, and doing my best to hear the harmonies! I started getting involved in my youth groups worship team in the 4th grade and haven’t stopped since. My family came to Citygate when I was in 7th grade and I’ve never felt more at home. I’ve grown so much as a worship leader, and I still get absolutely terrified every time I am on stage but that is something that God is working on daily. I’m thankful to be a part of this team and it feels absolutely amazing to have such a good group of people to worship with.
Hey y’all, I’m Courtney and I was born and raised in Florida and began singing when I was 12 for our youth worship team. I served on the worship team at CCM when Pastor David first became the lead Pastor and then moved to Elevation and served there. In 2012 I moved to Tennessee to complete a discipleship program where I grew and learned a lot in worship and many other areas. I also met my husband, Hunter, there and we were married in October 2017. We moved to Florida in February 2018 and began attending Citygate. I’m thankful to be a part of CG Worship and to continue to pursue the calling that I believe God has placed on my life in the area of worship. I also have the honor of being a part of the Citygate Ministries staff. The Lord has definitely blessed me in many areas! A few random facts about me… Isaiah 43:1-4 is one of my favorite passages, I love adventures with my husband, nachos, music & diet coke!
Hi! My name is Ethan Andrew Adkins and I was born in Tennessee in 1991. As a kid, I loved watching Sesame Street. My favorite character, Ernie, was known to play a mean sax (when he wasn’t holding his ducky). In the sixth grade, I was able to join the school band program and learned to play the sax myself! And thus a love of playing music was born. The following year, I accepted Christ into my heart and I have since had a passion for serving God through music. I moved from Tennessee to Florida whenever I met the love of my life, a Fort Myers native, Elizabeth. We have now been married for five years with a 2 year old daughter, Elianna. I am grateful for how God has blessed me and I am excited for what the future holds.
Hi guys! My name is Hannah, most of you know me as the girl who sings Way Maker. I was born and raised here in Fort Myers, Florida. I have 5 brothers and 1 sister. Growing up, two of the most important things that have helped mold me were sports and music. I have always been passionate about music and learning it. It has been an outlet for me to express how I feel and has been a way for me to reach others through Jesus. I grew up in a Christian household and have gone to church my whole life! I have attended Citygate since high school. I am very thankful for Citygate and how they have played an important role with my walk with the Lord. Right out of high school I attended a leadership college in South Carolina. Through that school I was able to dive into a deeper relationship with the Lord which ultimately lead me back to Fort Myers. I now work for Chapman Insurance Group and am able to play music like I have always dreamed, right here at Citygate.
Hey guys, my name is Joshua Pleasant and I’m the drummer boy for Citygate. I was born and raised in north Florida until my family moved to Fort Myers when I was 10 years old. I have been playing the drums since the age of 3. For me, playing the drums unto the Lord is my form of worship. I was raised up in the church, but I gave my heart to the Lord at youth camp at the age of 13. I met my wife Melissa at youth group when I was 16, but it wasn’t until 6 years later that I finally convinced her to be my wife. Fast-forward 6 and a half years, and we now have two children, Mila and Levi. The two people that have shaped me into the man that I am today are my parents. I have watched them sacrifice and lay down their life for the Lord. This is a legacy that I aspire to pass down to my children. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, or filming for my YouTube. I am extremely humbled and thankful for the goodness of God in my life, and I look forward to what God has in store for us at Citygate this year!
Lacey is married to Nathan Ponder and mom to the most precious baby boy, Jaxson. Lacey was born and raised in southwest Louisiana.
She started singing at the young age of 6. Encouraged to sing anywhere and everywhere by her family. Even in Walmart Lacey’s Poppop had her singing “You are my sunshine” to everyone they passed. At the age of 10, Lacey was asked to serve on a children’s ministry team at her home church, Glad Tidings Church, and continued to serve for 13 years. Under the incredible leadership of Pastor Darrell and Mrs. Gwen is where Lacey found her love of serving others but mainly her love for worship.
Since serving with Citygate worship Lacey has said, “It is the highest honor to be able to serve along side my Citygate worship team! This group of people might be the most anointed and talented worshipers I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They are people I can count on and call family! I look forward to seeing what the future holds for our team!”
Hey! My name is Mark and I was born in Fort Myers in 1984. I taught myself to play guitar. I was in 2 bands. I was the lead singer in the first band and Bassist in the second. In both bands we played Classic Rock, Modern Rock and Blues. We played at local bars downtown. I had a troubled upbringing and have been through a lot to put it mildly. I’ve wrestled with my own demons but eventually was able to kick the monkey off my back. I found Christ through Citygate. It was about 8 years ago around the time I started looking for a church to attend and had checked out a few before coming to Citygate. The first time I went to Citygate I was met with the presence of the Lord in a very warm and inviting way. Soon after, I met David Logan and we just jived. We have since become close friends. Our musical tastes were very similar and when we played together our sound was like gold! I would later merry my wife Nikki and soon after be blessed with the birth of our daughter Emma.
Hey Church family! My name is Rachel Steffens and I have been attending Citygate for the last four years. I was born and raised on Long Island, New York from a wonderful and dedicated Christian family that now also attends Citygate. My family comes from a long line of pastors, dating all the way back to Martin Luther. Our family heritage is a legacy I cling to in knowing that generations before me dedicated their entire life’s work to making disciplines and spreading the love of Jesus to all. In all I do, I want God to shine bright in His glory and be the reason why lives are changed. I truly believe that with God, all things are possible and we are all one “yes” away from having life transformation in Christ Jesus! I am a dog mom and an avid gym shark. I also love to bake cakes and cupcakes for small events and to celebrate life every chance I get! Above all, I love to laugh and enjoy the joys of life that God brings.
My name is Ron Robinson. I play bass/guitar for our worship team. I have 8 grandchildren and I have been married to my lovely wife Patti for 30 years. I spent 6 years of my musical career traveling from state to state and bar to bar in the midwest. Upon moving to Florida I sidelined my music. I felt there was no reward and no fulfillment. In 2003 I was introduced to Jesus. I also met Pastor David, Michele and the Pleasant family, all who had a drastic impact on my life. I was invited into God’s family and I was also invited into their family. I joined the worship team. Little did I know with the empowerment from God through His everlasting grace and love, and from you (our church community). It has renewed my passion for music, and now I feel that there is a reward and a fulfillment. It's a joy to help open the eyes of people through worship music (and I once thought that playing music had no value at all).
Picture it Fort Myers, FL June 12th, 1992. A storm approaches. Lightning strikes, thunder rolls, and a young woman is rushed to the hospital. Her second child is to be born. Labor intensifies. The clock strikes midnight. June 13th, labor continues. 3am, he is born. The parents release a sigh of relief, the doctors cheer, but to the child it goes unheard. For he is deaf. It would take years of prayer and surgeries to correct his ears. But out of it he would become a musician. In his twelfth year of life he would join the school band to learn how to read music and play drums. Then would come guitar, piano, and eventually his true love, bass. Growing up in TN would teach him the ways of bluegrass and country. Although his heart will truly lie in movie soundtracks and rock n roll. In his 24th year, he would marry his truest love, Sarah Dixon; surpassing his undying passion for Star Wars, stories, fishing, and video games. Through trials and tribulations, he would find his way back to his birthplace of Ft Myers FL. There, he would continue his destiny: Called at the age of 5 to follow Christ and lead worship, he would carry on that calling until the end of time.
My name is Sarah Christina Dixon. I was born in Palm Beach FL and raised as a PK “Pastors Kid”. I was saved at the age of 5 and have been singing songs of praise to God ever since. I come from a long line of musicians and singers dating back to my great grandfather! I have had a heart for worship arts since I was 9 and have been leading worship since the age of 12. There is no place I feel more at peace in my relationship with God than when I have the opportunity to worship him and lead others into his presence. It beyond confirms what I am called to do in my life time. I truly believe that creating a ministry for the purpose of teaching and raising up others to be leaders in worship arts ministry is my heart project and calling.
Hello Citygate family. My name is Yvette Jones. I was born and raised in Minnesota and through a series of events I landed in NFM in 1986. I have been a part of this ministry since June 1996. During the 25 years at CCM / Citygate I have served on the tech team, helped in Children's ministries and am currently helping with our bus ministry and worship team. I find joy in serving others. It is a true honor and privilege to be on the praise and worship team each week as an auxiliary percussionist. I have a ton of fun putting in a few pings and tings to add texture to the music. But it isn't just about being on stage, I get to see the faces of people worshiping our Risen Lord and Savior. I get to see freedom in action. I believe in God almighty, the maker of heaven and earth. I believe He hears us when we pray and I believe He inhabits the praise of His people. Being a part of this and getting to see the congregation puts a HUGE smile on my face. I look forward to each time we are together. I like cruises, vacationing, Texas Hold'em and a little known secret about me is I love, love, love when someone makes my coffee and hands it to me with a smile.
